Description



Learning Outcomes

1. Analyse literary texts from a craft-based perspective.
2. Reflect in an informed and contextualised way on theories of literary influence and originality.
3. Describe and evaluate a variety of ways in which literary texts are in dialogue with one another within recognised literary groupings and schools, historically and cross-culturally.
4. Apply the insights gained into other writers’ techniques to their own compositional practice.
5. Show knowledge of literary cultures outside the academy and explore possible participation therein
6. Demonstrate familiarity with a wide range of the forms & genres available to a contemporary writer
7. Demonstrate a mastery of grammar & syntax
8. Demonstrate the ability to identify and manipulate rhetorical tropes in their own work and the work of others
