Description This module is designed to introduce students to the role that ethics plays in contemporary businesses and societies. It aims to develop student’s understanding of the relationship amongst the economic, social, governmental public, and nonprofit domains. It also aims to enable students to recognise and identify a range of professional capabilities necessary for taking an active part in a sustainable society. The module will focus on developing more specialised Spanish vocabulary and also focus on improving students’ oral and written language skills | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Learning Outcomes 1. Engage with and comprehend multimodal texts and videos concerned with ethical issues 2. Access and source digital publications in Spanish that can provide arguments on relevant topics and critically evaluate and manage in-depth information 3. Express, communicate and share their own views on topics related to ethics and the business world and broader areas through Spanish 4. Demonstrate a good command of a very broad lexical repertoire related to ethical issues and maintain a high degree and consistent grammatical control of complex language 5. Create new meanings constructing structured and well-argued written texts on ethical topics using first and secondary sources 6. Learning Activities Indicative Content and Learning ActivitiesTopics will cover aspects such as applied ethics, globalization, business, human resources, entrepreneurship, fair trade, digital economy, freedom of speech, COVID-19, etc. Students will engage with aural and written stimuli in order to complete associated tasks. These will include interpreting an infographic, reading articles and pieces of academic research, watching videos, answering questions and expressing their opinions in relation to a variety of material. Supplementary online exercises will also be used that students complete in their own time and which give automatic feedback and provide links to additional resources | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
