Description

The module begins by surveying the origins of the Cold War and ends with the dissolution of the USSR. The major topics discussed include crises in Berlin, the Korean and Vietnam wars, the Cuban Crisis and the New Cold War.

Learning Outcomes

1. Demonstrate a broad knowledge of the history of the Cold War
2. Understand the ideological confrontation between east and west
3. Demonstrate an understanding of international relations during the Cold War
4. Identify some of the key political and cultural developments of the Cold War
