Description This module prepares students to apply the skills and knowledge learned in CM3009 Dissertation 1 – Research Methods for Communications & Media Studies by overseeing completion of an independent academic project. Students implement the proposal they developed in Semester 1 and report each week on their progress before submitting the final project of 10,000 words in length. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Learning Outcomes 1. Apply the knowledge acquired over the duration of the BA programme to implement a research project proposal 2. Demonstrate knowledge of the literature relevant to the research topic 3. Apply a specific research methodology, as appropriate to the research topic 4. Present and discuss updates in the weekly workshop in an effective manner outlined by mentor 5. Benefit from feedback from the mentor and peers of work in progress 6. Discern the ethical issues involved in the project and act accordingly 7. Conduct a significant piece of independent written research | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
