Description To introduce students to the history, development and modalities of political communication in Ireland through a combination of lectures and case studies. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Learning Outcomes 1. Conceptualize, research and write an original essay demonstrating an understanding of a significant dimension of media and politics in Ireland; 2. Critically analyse the historical relationship between media and politics in Ireland with consideration of relevant international context; 3. Analyse current debates in political communication in Ireland in wider historic and international contexts; 4. Appreciate the conditions and constraints under which the actors in the political communication process operate; 5. Synthesize significant amounts of professional and academic literature in a comprehensible and organized manner; | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
