Description This know-how and skill based module focuses on formal, academic and creative writing in German. Students will develop competence in analysing as well as composing highly specialised formal texts related to business, current affairs and politics as well as short fictional texts such as short stories, poems, plays, movie scripts and excerpts from novels. Students are to achieve a high degree of fluency, accuracy and range of expression in written production in the target language and to develop the ability to communicate in writing with ease and confidence in a range of professional and social situations. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Learning Outcomes 1. Summarise and critically discuss short texts in German. 2. Assess the effectiveness and validity of arguments in written texts. 3. Produce short texts demonstrating a critical analysis of current topics and source texts. 4. Identify and reproduce structural elements of formal and informal German texts. 5.
