Description

As information volumes increase, so do the challenges of managing the information and trying to find value in it. This module focuses on challenges of managing information, such as relevancy, accessibility, legality, security and value of information Aim is to expand management competences by examining how Information Technology can be used as a strategic asset to mould competitive strategies and to change organizational processes. To address management issues surrounding the Information Systems Management function.

Learning Outcomes

1. Explain how information management delivers value to an organization
2. Identify key management issues of information and knowledge management
3. Justify the need for a defined information management strategy and describe approaches for developing IS strategy
4. Assess the suitability of responses to organizational change associated with the introduction of new information management approaches.
5. Examine approaches for managing information quality
6. Assess the implication of legal and ethical issues in managing information
