Description

The purpose of this module is: To increase all language skills to upper intermediate (B2) level; To equip the student to participate effectively in discussions; To widen the students structural and lexical choices in all settings. Compulsory Attendance: Module EN 306 requires that students attend at least 80% of lectures. Where a student fails to do so, and in the absence of documentation to support extenuating circumstances, s/he will be required to present for a meeting with the Programme Chair, SALIS Teaching Convenor and/ or Module Coordinator in advance of attempting examinations/ assessments and/ or submitting coursework.

Learning Outcomes

1. Write and speak at an upper-intermediate level (B2 in the CEFR).
2. Participate in speaking situations using appropriate verbal strategies.
3. Speak fluently and without hesitation.
4. Write accurately.
5. Extract information from texts.
