Description The purpose of the module is to enable participants to appreciate the role of their government in supporting the development of a knowledge society, and to participate in the development and implementation of related public policies. Potential applications of ICT in key areas like health, tourism, agriculture, education, and e-commerce will be explored. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Learning Outcomes 1. Understand the roles their governments are playing currently, and should play in the future, in order to develop an enabling environment for KS development 2. Acquire an overview of e-government applications in government and society and analyse them 3. Identify the economic and social benefits of the application of ICTs in specific economic and development areas 4.
