Description

Pléifear stair agus ballraíocht na hathbheochana teanga. Déanfar iniúchadh ar thábhacht na hathbheochana do shaol na tíre, d’fhealsúnacht pholaitiúil na tíre agus do dhíospóireachtaí i dtaobh cultúir sa lá atá inniu ann. Déanfar staidéar ar théacsanna éagsúla ón 20ú haois chomh maith, agus pléifear téama na hathnuachana i rith na tréimhse seo. Scrúdófar ábhar ó Bhailiúchán na Scol go háirithe: déanfar iniúchadh ar chúlra an bhailiúcháin seo, ar ról na bpáistí i gcaomhnú an ábhair agus ar na téamaí a fheictear sa bhéaloideas a bhailigh siad.

Athbheochan agus Athnuachan
Déanfar staidéar ar an fhealsúnacht a bhí taobh thiar d’Athbheochan na Gaeilge ó na 1880í ar aghaidh. Féachfar ar an tionchar ón iasacht a bhí ar fhorbairt idé-eolaíocht na hathbheochana cultúrtha agus déanfar mionléamh ar na haltanna ba thabhachtaí a scríobhadh sa tréimhse sin. Déanfar mionscrúdú ar bhlianta luatha an tSaorstáit, agus ar chuid de na téacsanna a d’eascair as an tréimhse sin. Déanfar staidéar ar chuid den ábhar atá i mBailiúchán na Scol, déanfar anailís ar an léargas a fhaigheann muid ar an óige ó na bailitheoirí agus pléifear an idé-eolaíocht a bhí taobh thiar den bhailiúchán seo. Scrúdófar sleachta ó dhírbheathaisnéisí agus ó phrós cruthaitheach na Gaeilge chomh maith: déanfar iniúchadh ar mhodhanna inste sna téacsanna éagsúla agus ar na mórthéamaí atá le feiceáil sna saothair seo, go háirithe ar théama na hathnuachana.
