Description

This module aims to provide students with self-learning and transferable skills leading to (i) familiarity with some industry-relevant topics, (ii) proficiency in accessing scientific and technical information and knowledge, (iii) additional critical/ evaluative skills, and (iv) an opportunity to explore science-related topics beyond, and complementary to, those of their core degree programme.

Learning Outcomes

1. Describe and discuss scientific topics of relevance to his/ her degree programme outcomes
2. Critically outline aspects of these scientific topics, with reference to the needs and practices of industry
3. Access and evaluate scientific and technical literature from databases
4. Prepare an informative and critical report on an assigned topic
