Description

The purpose of this module is to immerse students in a new aviation environment for a minimum of 4 months. This module has two options for completion – placement in an aviation business or exchange with a partner aviation management programme in European Business School (EBS) in Germany. </b> Students will be expected to integrate fully into their new environment and to function as employees/students of these new organisations. In taking this module it is intended that students gain the opportunity to apply knowledge and skills learned previously during their course in what is a new cultural situation. Students attending EBS must take 30 credits of modules relevant to their DCU programme. Both work placement and exchange are recorded as “Pass” or “Fail”.

Report(s)INTRA Students: In order to complete INTRA, each student on work placement must submit an INTRA Report, to be emailed to intra@dcu.ie. The report is marked by the student's INTRA Tutor and must achieve a “satisfactory” rating. The purpose of the INTRA Report is to provide the student with an opportunity to document and evaluate their experience in the work place and comprises a reflective journal, a self-evaluation of performance and a self-development plan. <br/><br/>EBS Exchange Students: In order to complete the EBS programme exchange, each student must receive a “pass” for the 30 credits taken from EBS. Evaluation in each of the relevant modules in EBS will be evaluated as per EBS criter100%

Resit category 1: A resit is available for both* components of the module.
Resit category 2: No resit is available for a 100% continuous assessment module.
Resit category 3: No resit is available for the continuous assessment component where there is a continuous assessment and examination element.
* ‘Both’ is used in the context of the module having a Continuous Assessment/Examination split; where the module is 100% continuous assessment, there will also be a resit of the assessment
