Description

The module aims to introduce the students to a range of types of translation and provide them a basic understanding of general translation practice.

Learning Outcomes

1. Translate short texts from Chinese into English.
2. Use appropriate background documentation relevant to the task of translation (e.g. dictionaries).
3. Produce grammatically correct, natural English texts.
4. Demonstrate an awareness of translation challenges such as register and collocation.
