Description This module will enable students to undertake a practice development project in their workplace. The project is flexible but must demonstrate the application of appropriate quality improvement/practice development frameworks, broad engagement with workplace stakeholders, a person-centred ethos, and a change process inclusive of measurable practice outcomes. Students will demonstrate advanced understanding of the principles and process of change management, demonstrating competence in its design, implementation, and dissemination. This will incorporate applying ethical safeguards and models of participation in change initiatives. Students will also be supported by an experienced academic supervisor throughout the module. Teaching and learning activities will be tailored to the needs of students and will take the form of small group masterclasses, workshops, online engagement and tutorials as appropriate. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Learning Outcomes 1. Achieve the required ethics approval/permissions from relevant approval bodies for the practice development initiative. 2. Acquire a mastery of the principles, theory and policy underlying the student’s chosen practice development topic and a knowledge and appreciation of the relevant literature 3. Translate the approved proposal into action through detailed project planning, stakeholder involvement and implementing the appropriate frameworks, methodologies and resources to progress the project 4. Demonstrate the ability to be creative in response to barriers in the change process, demonstrating an understanding of group dynamics and how they function to support or inhibit change 5. Demonstrate the ability to reflect, evaluate and facilitate the change process for others involved 6.
