The pre-hospital emergency care in Ireland The pre-hospital emergency care continuum, the medicolegal issues relating to emergency care Emergency care action plan Developing an emergency care action plan Primary and secondary survey and subsequent management for adults and children Appropriate assessment and management of airway and breathing, appropriate assessment and management of cardiac and circulatory issues (including CPR, AED use, administration of aspirin) Appropriate assessment and management of cardiac and circulatory issues CPR, AED use, administration of aspirin Appropriate assessment and management of general medical emergencies decompression Illness, Glycaemic Emergency, altered Level of Consciousness (seizures/stroke) Appropriate assessment and management of general medical emergencies as a result of trauma trauma to the head, limbs, thorax, abdomen and spine including haemorrhage, burns and fractures Appropriate assessment and management of injuries and illnesses resulting from environmental conditions heat related emergencies and hypothermia Appropriate assessment and management of injuries and illnesses resulting from toxicology including allergic reactions and poisons Appropriate management of emergency childbirth Communication skills for the assessment and management of acute injuries and illnesses The well-being of the clinician in emergency care situations. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
