Description

This module is designed to allow students who are on their Year Abroad (3rd year) to gain greater insights into professional and/ or discipline-related issues by conducting interviews with professionals/ specialists in areas of relevance to their degree programme. It allows students to use both their language skills and discipline-related knowledge in authentic contexts involving interaction with professionals/ specialists.

Learning Outcomes

1. Gain insights into professional and/ or discipline-related issues by conducting interviews with professionals/ specialists in areas of relevance to their degree programme
2. Demonstrate both their language skills and discipline-related knowledge in authentic contexts involving interaction with professionals/ specialists.
3. Demonstrate transferable skills such as researching, listening, note-taking and academic writing.
4. Reflect on career opportunities and expectations and to demonstrate an awareness of how this piece of coursework can support their career development.
