Description

With companies becoming more projectized, there is a huge increase in projects being commissioned as a response to digital disruption – companies have to adapt much more quickly, and projects are being used to support and drive digital transformation efforts. While organisations have moved increasingly towards agile approaches in the Digital Business domain, hybrid approaches crossing both traditional and agile are gaining in popularity. This module covers both conventional and agile approaches to project management to support digital business.

Learning Outcomes

1. Evaluate and describe the technical and sociocultural aspects of managing projects related to digital business
2. Discuss and critique significant factors in planning successful projects
3. Comprehend conventional, agile and hybrid approaches to project management
4. Critically analyse aspects of project management that can contribute to overall project failure
5. Understand how to plan, estimate and analyse project times, costs and risks
6. Explain and identify critical path and total slack, resource levelling and resource-limited scheduling
7. Understand the practical implementation of the agile Scrum approach to project management
