Description

This module will involve the aural study of melodies, intervals, and exercises in various major keys. Learners will study basic rhythmic patterns (4/4, 3/4) and be introduced to common harmonic progressions. Solfa, the study of basic conducting patterns and common music notation will be learned.

Learning Outcomes

1. Be able to recognise and sing intervals
2. Be competent at taking musical dictation
3. Be competent at basic conducting patterns
4. Recognise chord qualities
5. Develop polyphonic awareness and musical memory
