Module Aims
To provide students with a firm basic understanding of individual human behaviour in organisations.

Learning Outcomes
7 To develop a thorough understanding of the concepts and issues which influence human behaviour in organisations at both an individual and macro level. 7 Students will be aided in the development of critical synthesising skills; facilitating student categorisation of overlapping or conflicting models/interpretations of behaviour and abstracting the most rational for their purpose. 7 Students will be encouraged to develop strategic interactive communication and listening skills in applied exercises in tutorials.

Indicative Syllabus
Introduction Definitions of psychology, historical development; research methods in psychological research and research reporting. Perception The physiological process, the psychological process - social perception and perceptual errors. Individual Differences Historical perspectives on individual differences. Theories of personality and theories of intelligence and their influence on the recruitment process. Learning Theoretical approaches to learning; behaviourism, cognitive approaches, social learning theory and their application to training in organisations. Motivation Introduction to motivation theories; motivation and satisfaction; practical applications of motivation theories and models to organisational functioning
