Module Aims

The module aims to introduce students to that array of possibilities available to researchers when considering organisational research. Students will review the philosophical and ethical underpinning of the field and gain insights on a wide variety of applied techniques. They will gain an understanding of the various packages and statistical techniques available to analyse data. Students will be prepared to identify and operationalise their own research endevour.

This module will enable to identify trends in research and research funding. They will be equipped with the skills to tender for research projects, and will be given hands-on experience. Understanding project managements is a pillar of this course. It is a skill that will be practiced repeatedly.



Learning Outcomes

By the end of this modules the students should:

  • Understand and employ ethical premises when evaluating research problems
  • Show scientific inquiry skills to assess the effectiveness of any research approach when facing potential organisational research questions
  • Develop a clear understanding of the centrality of validity in active research
  • Formulate rigorous explanations for what they have researched
  • Comprehend the various statistical techniques involved in datat analysis
  • Demonstrate a capacity for understanding an applying the results of their research or of the resesarch done by others
