Module Aims
|
To introduce the student to translation, with a view to providing a basic understanding of general translation practice.
|
Learning Outcomes
|
This module will enable students to:
- Appreciate issues of register and text type etc. as they relate to the translation of texts.
- Translate a limited range of general texts in certain fields from Japanese into EnglishSource and utilise appropriate background documentation of relevance to the task of translation.
- Develop a basic understanding of the use of translation resources/aids in the production of translations.
- Generate electronic glossaries using on-line resources
