To develop students understanding of the principles and practices which govern international trade and multi-national enterprise.

Learning Outcomes

1. discuss theories of international trade
2. appraise arguments in favour of and against greater free trade
3. outline legal and economic structures of international trade, such as the role of the WTO and/or trading blocks such as the EU
4. investigate how macroeconomic policies work in an open economy
5. anticipate the likely consequences of government interventions
