Description

This course will provide you with an overview of the principles and practices of business coaching and mentoring in organizations. You will gain a basic knowledge of the coaching process, including how to create the coaching relationship, engage in coaching conversations, and learn to use questioning techniques and coaching tools in the coaching process. You will also develop a critical awareness and understanding of the potential and limitations of coaching and mentoring models, frameworks and associated theories. Particular emphasis will be placed on the systemic approach of business coaching and consulting. Finally, the module requires you to reflect critically on theory and practice from an ethical and professional standpoint and it provides you with opportunities for applied learning and continued professional development.

Learning Outcomes

1. Demonstrate and apply an informed and critical understanding of psychological theories and concepts informing the design and use of coaching
2. Select and apply appropriate coaching processes and techniques matched to context
3. Design and implement organization-based coaching strategies
4. Act ethically and professionally in coaching and mentoring practice and demonstrate a commitment to continuous personal and professional development
