Description The aim of the module is to introduce the students to the necessary technical and creative skills required to produce original video material for a variety of mixed media uses. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Learning Outcomes 1. Working in a small team be able to originate and prepare a multimedia related, digital video proposal. 2. Originate, shoot and record a short interview, paying particular attention to audio quality, framing and composition. 3. Organise, develop and produce a five to seven minute video project on an agreed topic. 4. Compile the project into a logically edited sequence of events, including all necessary post-production work. 5. Generate a short report, which reflects on the production process, explaining reasons for decisions made and recommending changes based on lessons learnt. Include any academic or audio/visual references that influenced the production process [use of the Harvard Referencing System]. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Learning Activities Indicative Content- Introduction to storytelling - Camcorder skills (using HD and 4K cameras with interchangeable lenses and tripods) - Introduction to non-linear editing through Adobe Premiere Pro. - Framing, composition and types of shots. - Three-point lighting in a TV studio environment. - File Management - Colour Correction. - Use of jibs for camera stabilisation. - Pre-production and post-production requirements.General Note.As per 'Full-time Workload' description, students will be expected to continue their laboratory work with their own research and self-taught tutorial materials in order to increase their understanding and competencies within the various software and hardware environments. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
