Description The module is underpinned by an action research approach where there is an intention to improve practice in line with values that are rational and just, and appropriate to the situation. The approach taken allows students to discuss and evaluate the social context in which they work and live and to explore opportunities for researching these contexts. Participants make use of collaborative online technologies for teaching, learning and creative inquiry. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Learning Outcomes 1. Carry out an action research enquiry; identifying an area of investigation, developing action plans, acting and gathering data and evaluating effectiveness of changing practice. 2. Discuss the major philosophical and methodological approaches to research. 3. Critically engage with theory and literature in a chosen field of research. 4. Design and construct a research proposal. 5. Communicate research using an appropriate forms of representation. 6. Discuss the role of ethics in research. 7. Develop knowledge and skills in e-moderating in order to encourage and support an online community. 8.
