Description

This module is conducted through French. Throughout the semesters, students will perform individual and collaborative tasks to develop their confidence and competence mainly in spoken production and interaction but also in written and listening production and comprehension in the target language. They will develop critical thinking and intercultural skills that will help them understand French speaking cultures better.

Learning Outcomes

1. Communicate orally and in an intelligible manner in front of a group, on familiar topics related to their interests and field of study and communicate to lead an activity.
2. Demonstrate an appreciation of perspectives other than their own worldview in intercultural encounters and critical thinking in interactions.
3. Understand, extract and retrieve relevant information from announcements, instructions, and messages spoken in French and from authentic audiovisual sources in French and different written materials on chosen topics.
4. Show a good degree of writing skills and grammatical control; draw on a sufficient vocabulary to express themselves on most topics pertinent to their everyday life such as university life, interests, studies etc.
5. Make effective use of digital tools and resources for language learning and language use (spoken and written) and engage in activities to develop capacity for lifelong learning.
