Description This module will enable students to explore and critically engage with post primary Citizenship Education, both CSPE and Politics and Society. To provide students will detailed knowledge of the specification strands and topics of study, as well as its underpinning principles, learning outcomes and assessment for certification components. To provide students with the skills to identify and utilise a range of resources and methodologies for effective teaching and learning within the subjects. To contribute to students' skills and confidence to lead and implement CSPE and Politics and Society in a second level context. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Learning Outcomes 1. Critically engage with the CSPE and Politics and Society specifications 2. Effectively use a range of teaching, learning and assessment methodologies appropriate for the CSPE and Politics and Society classroom 3. Identify and utilise a variety of contemporary media as pedagogical tools 4. Manage data collection and analysis relating to the subject 5. Critically reflect on learning and on the effectiveness of pedagogical and assessment support materials 6. Work in collegiality with colleagues in the interests of sharing, promoting, developing and supporting best professional practice in the teaching of CSPE and Politics and Society in second level schools | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
