INACTIVE - Develop your ability to translate texts at an advanced level Enhance your autonomy in sourcing appropriate background documentation Enable you to deal competently with issues of equivalence and difference Prepare you for submission of professional translation assignments

Learning Outcomes

1. Translate semi-specialised texts at an advanced level from Japanese into English
2. Select suitable texts for background reading
3. Generate electronic glossaries using on-line resources
4. Write grammatically correct, natural English sentences, which are stylistically appropriate to the context of the text
5. Critique published Japanese / English translations
