Description

The airline industry is a regulated industry which is largely based on security and safety concerns. This module will provide students with an overview of the industry in terms of its structures, standards and strategies with a primary focus on the structures and standards. This module will introduce students to the different functions within the industry and the regulators that maintain and monitor standards.

Learning Outcomes

1. analyse the structure of the airline industry
2. describe and discuss the role of regulatory bodies in the airline industry
3. discuss the appropriateness of particular decisions by individuals, firms and regulatory bodies in the areas of pricing and provision of services
4. describe and discuss the key EU regulations and their impact on the aviation industry
5. Discuss the key performance indicators relevant to the aviation industry
