Description This module will develop participants requisite knowledge and skills in order to effectively practice as peer support workers within mental health services and the community. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Learning Outcomes 1. Have a detailed knowledge of diverse models of peer support and utilise effective aspects of these models within the context of their service environment 2. Demonstrate a portfolio of practice skills conducive to the facilitation of support and recovery for people with mental health problems 3. Have a detailed knowledge of multidisciplinary roles and functions in mental health services provision and potential place of peer support workers in this system 4. Have a good understanding of HSE infrastructure, policy and professional practice guidelines that apply to all mental health workers in mental health services | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
