Description

In this careers focused module you will build on your skills and knowledge in line with the development of your study of Technology and ICTs. You will be given the opportunity to develop the tools to allow you to market yourself and your skills to assist you in developing your employability. Following an introduction to Career and Job Readiness you will engage in: • Goal setting • Action planning • Development of personal development plan allowing you to plan your future with confidence and flexibility. You will be supported to develop a professional profile to share with prospective employers to signal your interest in an ICT career via relevant contemporary means such as: • Targeted CV development with cover letter • LinkedIn or equivalent online career portfolio development Through engagement with, and research of, the Technology sector you will learn about relevant areas of the labour market so as to identify areas of potential employment. You will do this through: • Participation in Careers Fairs • An Industry Insights Seminar Series • Self-directed study of Industry community events, including hackathons and meet-ups You will be given the opportunity to work on your personal brand via: • Improvement of your presentation/interview skills

Learning Outcomes
