Learning Outcomes

1. Review the range of general learning disabilities and define Mild General Learning Disabilities (MGLD) within this framework
2. Identify and describe potential areas of difficulty associated with MGLD in the areas of language, cognition, and social and emotional and physical development
3. Identify and describe the range of special educational provision for those with MGLD .
4. Evaluate research regarding the long-term prospects of those with MGLD
5. Describe the prevalence of MGLD in the general population
6. Critically reflect upon the implications of knowledge about MGLD for classroom practice
