Description

The aims of this module are: 1. to develop students’ knowledge on the causation, pathophysiology, epidemiology, symptoms of major Non-communicable Chronic Diseases (NCDs) 2. to develop students’ ability to profile patients with chronic diseases 3. to develop students’ ability to design, plan and implement a programme based on exercise.

Learning Outcomes

1. Describe the pathophysiology, epidemiology, clinical aspects affecting exercise capacity and the role of exercise as treatment in chronic illnesses covered in the module
2. Demonstrate knowledge of evidence-based current practices in relation to the role of exercise in chronic illness management
3. Design an exercise programme to be administered to chronic illness patients
