Module Aims
To introduce the fundamentals of organic chemistryTo introduce the two main areas of physical - rates of reaction (chemical kinetics) and chemical equilibrium (chemical thermodynamics).
Learning Outcomes
The student should be able to:
7 Understand the physical principles governing rates of chemical reactions.
7 Understand the driving force behind chemical reactions and how external factors can effect the position of chemical equilibrium.
7 Understand the chemistry of organic functionalities.
