Module Aims
|
To introduce students to the basic concepts of inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry and biochemistry
|
Learning Outcomes
|
1.To understand the basic concepts of inorganic chemistry, including the structure of atoms, chemical bonds, chemical reactions, stoichiometry, solutions and acids and bases
2.To identify the organic functional groups that are important to the study of biochemistry
3.To understand the basic structure and function of proteins, carbohydrates and lipids4.To introduce students to the basic concepts of molecular genitics
