Module Aims
|
The objective of this module is to further develop the students understanding of the design process and to build skills in the area of engineering value analysis.
|
Learning Outcomes
|
Having successfully completed this module the student will be able to:
7 Understand the key elements in the design process.
7 Generate alternative design solutions to meet design requirements using a systematic approach.
7 Understand the role of rapid prototyping in new product development.
7 Describe quality and regulatory requirements.
7 Perform a risk analysis for a product.
7 Explain the methodology of cost evaluation and value analysis.
7 Capability to modelling engineering systems for improved design and value analysis
