School School of Mathematical Sciences

Online Module Resources

Level 2 Credit Rating 5
Pre-requisite None
Co-requisite None
Module Aims
  • To provide students with a knowledge of differential equations sufficient for them to understand science courses which use them.
  • To give students the skills to solve common differential equations in engineering and science textbooks.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this module students will be able to:

  • Solve systems of linear ordinary differential equations with constant coefficients.
  • Solve well-known second order equations with variable coefficients in scientific applications.
  • Solve certain first order non-linear differential equations.
