Module Aims
  • To explore the central role played by holism, imagination, and the will in the psychosynthesis model of counselling and psychotherapy.
  • To become proficient in applying the psychosynthesis model of counselling and psychotherapy, and practiced in accommodating psychosynthesis in an integrative model of practice.


Learning Outcomes

On completion of this module and following a period of personal study it is intended that the student will be able to:

  • Discuss the psychosynthesis model in detail; in particular, to: Understand the role of spirituality in psychosynthesis theory . Critically appraise the work of Assagioli and other key figures in the school of transpersonal psychotherapy. Critically describe psychosynthesis concepts such as identification, sub- personalities and the will- Use the techniques of psychosynthesis counselling, and give a rationale for the use of psychosynthesis methods in a given instance.
  • Utilise his / her exploration of psychosynthesis counselling and psychotherapy to guide self-development and an increased level of self-awareness.
