Description

The module presents students with current thinking and practices around decision-making in organisations. Through lectures and guest presentations students will develop critical awareness of decision-making in organisations.

Learning Outcomes

1. Define the key factors at play in the external environment in terms of organisational management and decision making.
2. Describe the characteristics of good decision making in the workplace.
3. Outline the ethical considerations that inform organisational decision making.
4. Discuss issues of human resource management and industrial relations in organisational decision making.
5. Understand the implications of budgetary practice in organisations.
6. Outline the dimensions of power and politics in organisations and their implications for decision making.
