Description To equip student teachers with the ability to define, create and maintain an effective learning environment. To introduce students to contemporary approaches in a range of teaching & learning skills. To develop confidence in a range of initial teaching skills through reviews, analysis, demonstration, peer coaching and guided feedback To provide students with a detailed knowledge and understanding of the content and assessment methodology of the Junior Cycle and Senior Cycle curricula in curriculum Math in second-level schools. All students are required to participate in Micro-teaching as part of this module. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Learning Outcomes 1. Describe the content, methodology and assessment techniques of the Junior Cycle and Senior Cycle syllabus in curriculum Math as taught in second-level schools. 2. Map an appropriate teaching scheme for the Junior Cycle/Senior Cycle Syllabus in curriculum Maths as taught in the second-level curriculum. 3. Articulate and relate the appropriate teaching methods and specific challenges in delivering their curriculum Maths in the second-level curriculum. 4. Design a range of resources appropriate for use in the teaching of curriculum Maths. 5. Work in collegiality with colleagues in the interests of sharing, promoting, developing and supporting best professional practice in teaching of Maths. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
