Learning Outcomes

1. Understand the principles of exercise bioenergetics.
2. Understand the mechanisms responsible for the integrative functioning of the cardiovascular and pulmonary system during exercise
3. Understand how the role of acute and chronic exercise in disease prevention
4. Understand the role of nutrition in sport and health
5. Develop practical skills in body composition analysis, blood pressure evaluation, aerobic fitness assessment, spirometry and dietary assessment
6. Demonstrate the skills and knowledge for interpreting laboratory and field-based exercise testing
7. Ability to develop age specific programs for speed, endurance, strength and flexibility
