Module Aims
  • To introduce the student to the formats by which scientific knowledge is stored and the methods by which it can be retrieved.
  • To introduce the conventions used in scientific writing.
  • To explain plagiarism and to instil an appreciation of the ethical aspects of scientific writing.
  • To develop the skills required for effectiuve oral presentation of scientific information


Learning Outcomes
The student will learn how to conduct a scientific literature search, how to structure and reference scientific writing and how to verbally communicate scientific information.

(i) a topic of broad scientific interest and
