The purpose of this module is to provide students with a broad overview of Organisational Psychology. It has been designed to help students develop a firm understanding into the field of Organisational psychology by balancing its treatment of both practice and research. This modeul will equip students for their future careers in improving their understanding of people's behaviour at work and in teaching them how to manage both themselves and others in the workplace. The greatest asset of any organisation is it's people and yet some of the greatest challenges that face managers relate to people management. In this module students will develop knowledge of key theories and concepts as well as the ability to make connections between concepts, both within and across various topics, and to apply this knowledge to organisational problems. Students are expected to attend lectures, engage in group work, prepare for and contribute to class discussions.

1. Describe the work of organisational psychologists in work settings
2. Discuss and critique both traditional and contemporary psychological theories and perspectives
3. Apply psychological theory in work and organisational settings
4. Prescribe solutions to perceived organisational difficulties

Introduction to Organisational Psychology
An introduction to the field of Organisational Psychology. History of the field of Organisational Psychology. Activities of Organisational Psychologists. Research Methods in Organisational Psychology

The Individual and the Organization
This section will examine theories and empirical findings on individual behavior in organisations. Topics such as Theories of Employee Motivation, Work Attitudes and Emotion, and Occupational Health Psychology will be covered.

The Social Context of Work
Theoretical explanations and empirical evidence on the social context of work and its relation to organisational performance. Students will learn about topics such as Work Groups and Work Teams, Individuals in Groups, and Leadership in Organizations.
