Module Aims
This module aims to raise awareness of the diverse learning styles, learner preferences, special educational needs and ethnic/ socio-cultural backgrounds of learners. It also examines motivational and teaching and learning strategies that can be used to support the diverse range of learners

Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to…
  1. Explain and summarise different stages of development - psychological, physical, emotional and social
  2. Identify and devise suitable teaching and learning strategies to meet the needs of learners with different learning styles, preferences and special educational needs in an intercultural learning context
  3. Recognise and deploy appropriate teaching strategies to engage learners with varied muliple intelligence profiles
  4. Select suitable technologies to assist learners with special educational needs
  5. Choose and implement motivational strategies to engage a diverse range of learners within the learning environment
  6. Describe a range of learning difficulties that learners may present with, such as dyslexia, dyspraxia.
