Module Aims
To introduce the student to a range of types of translation, with a view to providing a basic understanding of general translation practice.

Learning Outcomes
 Appreciate issues of register and text type etc. as they relate to the translation of texts.  Translate a limited range of general texts in certain fields from Japanese into English Source and utilise appropriate background documentation of relevance to the task of translation. Develop a basic understanding of the use of translation resources/aids in the production of translations.
