A practical introduction to the concepts and practice of developing interactive teaching and learning artefacts.

Indicative Syllabus
  • Introduction to Multimedia module.
  • Introduction to multimedia - the birth of multimedia.
  • Rationale for use of multimedia in teaching and learning.
  • Use of a variety of authoring tools to develop multimedia artefact, e.g. Dreamweaver 8 with Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), Captivate, Flash, Fireworks and Hotpotatoes.
  • Evaluating educational multimedia.
Assessment

The collaborative approach involves tutor, peer group and multimedia specialists. Assessment reflects the collaborative and interactive approach of the module. Assessment involves the development of multimedia web-based artefact, learning journals, collaborative online activity and self-assessment.
