Module Aims
You will be introduced to a variety of multimedia authoring tools and develop technical skills in order to construct web based multimedia artefacts (using iMovie, Photoshop, Pro-tools, Dreamweaver, Flash and Simulation software). You will have the opportunity to demonstrate your learning through use of weblogs and multimedia presentations.

  • Demonstrate skills in the development of appropriate web-based artefact for use in your workplace context.
  • Critically evaluate e-learning artefact in relation to usability and accessibility issues.
  • Provide evidence of critical and creative thinking in your own learning and educational development through use of a weblog and multimedia forms of presentation.

Indicative Syllabus

Design and development of learning artefact for use in your work context. Use of various media in teaching and learning. Examination of use of video, animation, audio, graphics and simulation in teaching and learning.

Assessment
The collaborative approach involves tutor, peer group and multimedia specialists. Assessment reflects the collaborative and interactive approach of the module. Assessment involves the development of multimedia web-based artefact, learning journals, collaborative online activity and self-assessment.
