Materials: A range of SL text types will be used for translation practice, including:

  • Company reports
  • Economic reports and forecasts
  • Statistical analyses
  • Marketing and commercial documentation

Essential:

Background documentation in SL and TL, print and electronic.  General and specialised monolingual, bilingual and multilingual dictionaries.  Language specific reference sources to be specified by the module co-ordinators.

Teaching and Learning Methods:

 

Lectures, group Seminars (max group size 20 students), based on pre-set work, assignments and translation practice. You will be required to attend classes and to prepare and submit translations
